Greg DiLorenzo, owner of Burden of Proof, LLC, is a NJ licensed private detective and an Attorney licensed to practice law in the State of New Jersey. Shortly after graduating from Rowan University in 2006 with a degree in Law and Justice Studies, Greg began working as a field investigator for a large litigation support/investigative company conducting surveillance relating primarily to personal injury/workers compensation matters. During the course of the following years, while conducting surveillance by day, Greg obtained a Law Degree at night from Widener University, and subsequently a Masters Degree in Criminal Justice from Widener University.
After graduating from law school in 2012, Greg began working as an attorney primarily defending municipalities in civil lawsuits. The several years as a practicing attorney has provided Greg with valuable experience in not only communicating effectively with claims adjusters, but also in knowing what needs to be done to successfully win or defend a case. Discovery practice in civil litigation is extensive, and having an investigator with the knowledge of the law and what it takes can prove extremely valuable and a cost-saver in the long-term.

Cyber DNA performs full service Digital Forensics services for Civil, Business and personal matters. Digital forensics is the science of identifying, acquiring, analyzing and reporting the existence of electronic digital evidence in a manner that is acceptable to the courts. The goal of digital forensics is to perform a structured, repeatable investigation while maintaining a documented chain of custody to find out exactly what occurred, or what is stored on a digital device and who was responsible for it. It is the application of investigation, analysis and mathematical techniques to gather and preserve evidence from a particular computing device in a way that is suitable for legal proceedings that may involve discovery, depositions or actual litigation.
Everyone is familiar with the proliferation of digital devices that we utilize in our personal lives and in business on a daily basis. Smart phones, cell phones, tablets, laptops/computers, GPS devices, CD/DVD discs, USB storage devices and even network routers and game consoles all contain the bits and bytes that make up our digital life. It is virtually impossible to have a zero-digital-footprint in today’s information age. It’s been said that today’s mobile devices are “the new DNA.”
The proverbial “needle in a haystack” may be hidden deep in this vast amount of digital information but is often discovered utilizing proprietary, specially designed tools and techniques by a digital forensics expert. Recoverable evidence can be used to identify wrong-doing such as crime, fraud, theft of intellectual property (IP) and even the location of specific events. Additionally, this information may contain the evidence needed to support or refute disputed statements and activities. Digital forensic techniques can also be used to validate the authenticity of documents, photographs and electronic conversations (text messages, chats, e-mail, etc.) as well as recover deleted files, lost passwords and encrypted information. Forensic tools and techniques may also recover purposely destroyed data such as bulk deletion, disk drive formatting or device destruction.
