Over the past 25 years, the name Stuart Drobny has become synonymous with private investigations throughout the United States. Stuart is a highly acclaimed investigator, recently named the William O’Neil Investigator of the Year” by the New Jersey Licensed Private Investigators Association (NJLPIA), and awarded the prestigious “Best of 2010” designation by The Legal Intelligencer, the oldest law journal in the country.
Stuart founded Stumar Investigations in 1986, and under his leadership, Stumar has compiled a client roster that reads like a “Who’s Who” of Fortune 500 companies and prominent law firms. Servicing this clientele is Stumar’s staff of licensed investigators, which has grown to become the largest group of licensed investigators working for a privately owned firm. With Stuart at the helm, Stumar provides a wide array of investigative services to clients nationwide, most notably in the areas of intellectual property fraud and anti-counterfeiting, insurance defense and claims, civil litigation and litigation support, financial fraud and labor, employment and family law. In keeping with the times, Stumar also offers cutting edge, multi-platform social media investigations.
Having participated in innumerable cases over the years, the one matter Stuart points to with the most pride is a federal investigation he conducted along with the Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) involving the sale of stolen prepaid cellular phones that led to the arrest of 26 alleged Hezbollah operatives and sympathizers. Indeed, Stuart’s efforts in that case resulted in him being honored in 2010 by the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) for helping to disrupt a counterfeit goods operation with links to terrorism in the Middle East.
Stuart is also quite proud of his collaboration with the Pennsylvania General Assembly, resulting in the recent passage of a new Trademark Counterfeiting Statute, 18 Pa.C.S. § 4119, that serves to criminalize the sale of counterfeit goods in Pennsylvania.
Publications like the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, USA Today and People Magazine, as well as the regional consumer, legal and trade press, all rely on Stuart and Stumar as sources of trusted information. And beyond the FBI, Stumar also teams up with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), postal inspectors and state and local law enforcement on client matters.
Stuart is a graduate of Temple University, an Executive Board Member and Treasurer of the NJLPIA, and an active member of the Pennsylvania Association of Licensed Investigators (PALI), the National Association of Investigative Specialists (NAIS), the National Council of Investigation & Security Services (NCISS), the International Anti-Counterfeiting Coalition (IACC), the International Intelligence Network (INTELLENET), and the World Association of Detectives (WAD). Frequently in demand to comment on a variety of investigative topics, Stuart has been a speaker at numerous seminars, including those sponsored by the Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA), the Department of Homeland Security, the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, INTELLENET, International Anti-Counterfeiting Coalition (IACC), the Imaging Supply Coalition (ISC) and the World Investigators Conference.
